Used-to-be close

Life will always surprise you and the thing is that you never really know how or when... Things will just come up out of the blue and all you can do is watch and wait. Friends who haven't really spoke or write you will pop up and it will all go from there. I have learned not to get my hopes up when friends come back from who knows where. I tend to get my hopes dashed when things don't exactly turn out the way they should. I know that this must sound a bit cynical or a bit depressing, but it's the way things go, and I have had enough time to figure out that things can better, but to not let myself become depressed if they don't so we can just wait and see what happens. But I have to say that I can't help being a little hopeful that friends will stand by their word and that maybe I will see these used-to-be close friends again...
